We require an exceptional teacher and practitioner to support students with SEND, and work alongside our experienced SENDCO to support all children with a range of needs to achieve their potential. We are well respected within our local area, and beyond, and are selected by a number of families with children with EHCPs as their first-choice school each year.

This is an excellent opportunity for either primary or secondary teachers with experience of teaching SEND pupils.

We are looking for colleagues with:

• a commitment to raising achievement and ensuring every student realises their potential

• the ability to engage and support students through Quality First Teaching

• an enthusiasm and deep knowledge of how to support a range of SEND students

• A commitment to help all young people and staff to achieve their best is expected of all staff.

Informal visits to the school are welcome; please contact the Head’s PA, Debra Harker on 01980 676660 or e-mail harkerd@stonehenge.wilts.sch.uk

Please apply via a two sided letter detailing your educational philosophy, experience to date, and how you would contribute to the work of the department and the wider school community. Application form and further details are available from the school website and should be returned to Mrs D Harker, The Headteacher’s PA, The Stonehenge School, Holders Road, Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4 7PW.

What the school offers its staff

The Stonehenge School is proud to offer a wide range of high-quality teacher training opportunities for those looking to begin a rewarding career in education.

We work closely with Southampton University, welcoming trainees across a broad range of subjects each year. Our long-standing partnership provides trainees with a strong foundation in evidence-informed practice, supported by our experienced staff and vibrant school community. We can often accept trainees from other providers.

This year, we have been delighted to expand our training pathways through a collaboration with the Oxford and Berkshire SCITT, offering school-based training placements that immerse trainees fully in classroom life from day one.

In addition, we are working with United Learning to offer salaried teacher training routes, providing an excellent option for those wishing to train while earning a wage.

Across all routes, we offer placements in a wide range of subject areas, supported by skilled mentors and a comprehensive professional development programme.

If you are interested in training to teach with us, or are a provider, please get in touch via admin@stonehenge.wilts.sch.uk . We would be very happy to discuss the opportunities available.

Commitment to safeguarding

This school is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to an enhanced CRB check.
