Summary

Full-Time Teacher - Alternative ProvisionWillenhall | Full Time | Long-Term | Small Groups

Would you love to teach somewhere you can genuinely get to know every child in your classroom?

I'm recruiting for a full-time Teacher to join a new, small alternative provision site in the Willenhall area, working with a maximum of just 8 pupils at any one time. The site is an extension of an established alternative provision that has a strong focus on providing young people with the structure, support and understanding they need to overcome barriers to education.

The wider provision takes a nurturing, personalised approach, with the aim of helping young people rebuild their confidence, resilience and engagement with education and, where appropriate, successfully reintegrate into mainstream education or move on to the right longer-term provision.

Who will you be teaching?

The pupils accessing this site will predominantly be young people coming from mainstream school environments who are at risk of exclusion. Some will come from schools within the wider trust, while the provision will also support pupils referred from external schools. These are young people who may have found a traditional mainstream classroom difficult for a variety of reasons. They need something smaller and more personalised, with adults who can take the time to build relationships, understand what's behind their behaviour and help them reconnect with learning. This is very much about early intervention, inclusion and giving young people another opportunity to succeed in education.A genuinely small teaching environmentOne of the biggest attractions of this role is the size of the provision. You'll be supporting a maximum of 8 pupils at any one time, and you won't be doing it alone. On site you'll also have:

  • A full-time HLTA
  • A full-time Teaching Assistant
  • A maximum of 8 pupils at one time
  • The backing and experience of an already established alternative provision
  • A much more personalised approach to teaching and learning

Rather than trying to manage a mainstream class of 25-30 pupils, you'll have the opportunity to really understand the individual young people you're working with and adapt your teaching accordingly. It's about much more than behaviour managementThe ethos behind the wider provision is particularly focused on creating a safe and nurturing environment where young people feel valued and have the opportunity to thrive.Progress isn't viewed purely in terms of grades. Building confidence, trust and self-belief and preparing pupils for their next educational step are also important parts of the approach. For the right teacher, I think this could be an incredibly rewarding role. You might be supporting a pupil who has become completely disengaged from school, helping another begin to regulate their emotions more successfully, or simply getting a young person to believe that they can achieve academically again.Who am I looking for?I'd particularly like to hear from teachers with experience in:

  • Alternative provision
  • PRUs
  • SEMH
  • SEND
  • Behaviour and inclusion
  • Pastoral or nurture settings
  • Mainstream education with strong behaviour management skills
  • Supporting pupils at risk of exclusion

You don't necessarily need to have worked in a PRU previously. If you're a confident teacher who is calm, consistent, resilient and particularly good at building relationships with young people who don't always find education easy, I'd still really like to speak to you.Why this role stands out⭐ No more than 8 pupils at any one time⭐ Full-time HLTA and TA already on site⭐ Small, relationship-led teaching environment⭐ Opportunity to shape a developing second site⭐ Backed by an established alternative provision⭐ Focus on personalised learning rather than a one-size-fits-all approach⭐ Work with young people at a point where the right teacher could genuinely change the direction of their education⭐ Full-time opportunity in WillenhallIf you're an experienced teacher who's become frustrated with trying to meet individual needs in a class of 30, or you're already working within SEND, SEMH or alternative provision and would like your next challenge, this is definitely a role I'd encourage you to have a conversation with me about.Apply today and I'll happily talk you through the provision, the pupils and what they're looking for in their new teacher.
