Job Description
Coppersmith Recruitment and Services Ltd is currently recruiting a Warehouse Cleaner / Industrial Cleaning Operative on behalf of our client at a large, busy distribution centre in Derby.
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated individual to join the cleaning team, helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout the warehouse facility.

Previous experience in warehouse cleaning, industrial cleaning, commercial cleaning or facilities services would be beneficial, although candidates with a positive attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Working Hours and Shift Pattern
Afternoon Shift – Job Reference: 26113MIT
Working Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Shift Pattern: 4 Days On, 3 Days Off
Location: Derby, Derbyshire
Weekend working may be required depending on the rota.

Key Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment within a busy distribution centre.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out general cleaning duties throughout warehouse and distribution areas.
Sweeping, mopping and cleaning warehouse floors, walkways and designated workspaces.
Collecting, removing and disposing of waste safely and efficiently.
Supporting waste segregation, recycling and general waste management procedures.
Cleaning staff welfare facilities, communal areas, corridors and designated operational spaces.
Maintaining cleanliness around loading bays, storage areas and warehouse operational zones.
Emptying bins and ensuring waste collection points remain clean and organised.
Using cleaning chemicals, materials and equipment safely in accordance with site procedures and training.
Identifying and reporting spillages, hazards or unsafe working conditions.
Following all workplace health and safety procedures and site-specific requirements.
Working alongside warehouse and facilities teams to maintain high operational standards.
Completing assigned cleaning tasks efficiently and within required timescales.
Maintaining a professional, reliable and positive approach throughout each shift.
Requirements

Essential Requirements
A reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude.
Ability to work the advertised afternoon shift and rotating working pattern.
Willingness to work weekends where required.
Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
Ability to undertake physical duties, including standing, walking, bending and lifting throughout the shift.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to follow health and safety instructions and site procedures.
Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
A positive approach to work and willingness to learn.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
Previous warehouse or industrial cleaning experience.
Experience working within a distribution centre, logistics facility or similar environment.
Previous commercial cleaning or facilities management experience.
Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and commercial cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of waste management and recycling procedures.
Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as site-specific training and guidance will be provided where required.
Working Environment
The successful candidate will be working within a large, operational distribution centre in Derby.
This is an active warehouse environment where maintaining high standards of cleanliness and workplace safety is essential to supporting daily operations.
The position involves regular movement around the facility, manual cleaning duties and working alongside other operational teams.
