Summary

Do currently work in Construction? Are you a Kerb Layer within the civil engineering space and looking for a new opportunity? If the answers are yes, we have roles opening with a reputable civil engineering company in the Brighton area.

Role: Kerb Layer

Location: Brighton

Contract type: Temporary (Full time)

Start date: ASAP

Pay rate: £20-22 an hour

Key Responsibilities

Set out and install concrete and stone kerbs, edgings and channels.

Prepare and level ground and foundations prior to kerb installation.

Lay kerbs accurately to line, level, gradient and specification.

Mix and place concrete and other bedding materials as required.

Use hand tools and small plant safely and effectively.

Read and work from drawings, levels and site specifications.

Carry out repairs, adjustments and finishing works where required.

Work closely with groundworkers, machine operators and site supervisors.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.

Follow all site health and safety requirements and procedures.

Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.

Requirements

Previous experience as a

Kerb Layer, Kerber or Groundworker.

Good understanding of kerb laying, levels, gradients and line.

Ability to read basic construction drawings and specifications.

Experience working on highways, roads, housing or civil engineering projects.

Ability to use hand tools and relevant small plant.

Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Relevant CSCS or equivalent site qualification is desirable.

Desirable Qualifications

CSCS Card.

CPCS/NPORS tickets for relevant plant.

Street Works qualifications.

Manual Handling and Health & Safety training.

First Aid qualification.
