Summary

We are a friendly, supportive and forward-thinking Radiology team seeking an enthusiastic, committed and patient-focused Band 6 Radiographer to join our department at Queen Victoria Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced radiographer to contribute to a high-quality diagnostic imaging service, working across Plain Film, CT and Cone Beam CT (CBCT). You will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care while supporting the patient journey from referral through to diagnosis.

The successful candidate will be motivated to provide an excellent patient experience, demonstrate strong clinical and communication skills, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills within a varied and rewarding role, contributing to service improvement and the continued delivery of high-quality imaging services.

MRI experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Full training and support will be provided where appropriate.

If you are looking to join a welcoming team that values professionalism, development and patient-centred care, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality, patient-focused diagnostic imaging service across Plain Film, CT and Cone Beam CT (CBCT) at Queen Victoria Hospital. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will perform a wide range of imaging examinations, ensuring patient safety, dignity and comfort are maintained at all times.

The role involves independently undertaking imaging procedures, assessing referrals, maintaining imaging quality standards and adhering to IR(ME)R and radiation protection requirements. The post holder will be expected to support the efficient running of the department, prioritising workload appropriately to meet the needs of outpatient, inpatient and urgent care pathways.

As a Band 6 Radiographer, you will contribute to the supervision and support of students, assistant practitioners and less experienced staff, whilst actively participating in service development, quality improvement and audit activities.

The successful candidate will participate in the departmental weekend, bank holiday and on-call rota following the completion of appropriate training and competency assessments. Flexibility is essential to support the needs of a busy diagnostic imaging service.

Experience in MRI would be advantageous but is not essential, as opportunities for further professional development and training will be supported within the department.
