Summary
Job Title: Phlebotomist Main Purpose of the post: To assist clinicians in the care of practice patients namely to undertake the collection of blood samples safely, efficiently and accurately to support the clinical diagnosis, treatment and monitoring. Major Duties and Responsibilities Pathological specimens: Undertake the collection of pathological specimens namely intravenous blood samples as per instructions as recorded in the patient clinical records. Administrative and professional qualifications: Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team. (i) Ensure accurate notes of all consultations are recorded in the patient electronic records. (ii) Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care. Special Requirements of the post: (i) To have experience in intravenous extraction of blood samples. (ii) Ability to self-motivate, organise and prioritise workload. (iii) Excellent communications skills.
