You will configure, troubleshoot and maintain network and security solutions across physical, virtual and cloud-connected environments, while applying organisational standards, service requirements and operational best practice.

Working with engineers, service teams, suppliers and business stakeholders, you will use monitoring, automation and strong technical judgement to identify issues, restore service and reduce risk. You will also coach colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, Wi-Fi devices and associated network and security services.
  • Diagnosing and prioritising complex incidents, investigating root causes and restoring live services through effective incident and problem management.
  • Using enterprise monitoring to identify and troubleshoot network, security and service issues including the use of enterprise SIEM tooling.
  • Supporting enterprise network, security and infrastructure management services to maintain resilient, secure and reliable platforms.
  • Using scripting and automation, including shell scripting, PowerShell and Python, to improve troubleshooting, maintenance and repeatable operational activity.

Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need. We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.
