Your new company

A Primary School in North Birmingham is looking for a temporary School Caretaker to cover on an ongoing basis. The role is to start as soon as possible. The role would be Monday to Friday, 10am - 6pm.

Your new role

The role will entail:

Opening and securing the school site each day.

Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks.

Monitoring the condition of the school buildings and grounds.

Ensuring health and safety requirements are met and reporting any concerns.

Liaising with contractors and overseeing site access.

Conducting regular checks of heating, lighting, alarms, and other building services.

Supporting with room setups for school events and activities.

Managing site cleanliness and ensuring outdoor areas are safe and presentable.

Carrying out winter maintenance, including gritting pathways when required.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site management role.

Possess good practical maintenance and DIY skills.

Have a strong understanding of health and safety practices.

Be organised, reliable, and able to work independently.

Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
