Summary

Speech and Language Therapists - Band 6/7 - SEN School

Complex Needs | West London | Full-time | Long-term / Permanent

HAYS Education is recruiting an experienced Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist SEN school in West London, supporting children and young people with a range of complex communication and additional needs.The role:

Manage a caseload of pupils with complex speech, language and communication needs

Complete specialist assessments and develop individualised therapy programmes

Support pupils with communication, interaction, receptive and expressive language

Deliver and advise on AAC and alternative communication strategies where appropriate

Work closely with Occupational Therapists, teachers, SEN support staff, families and other professionals

Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, reports and target setting

Provide training and guidance to school staff to embed communication strategies throughout the school day

Band 7 candidates may also provide clinical supervision and support to junior therapists and therapy assistants

We are looking for:

HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist

Experience working with children or young people with SEN and complex needs

Strong assessment, intervention and multidisciplinary working skills

Experience within SEN schools, paediatrics or specialist education is highly desirable

Confidence working with pupils who may be non-speaking or use AAC
