The Opportunity

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a

Finance Officer for a well-established housing association in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional seeking their next temporary assignment within the social housing sector. You'll join a supportive finance team, assisting with day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate financial records. The position is initially for three months, with potential for extension or a permanent opportunity.

The role is initially office-based, with potential for hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

As Finance Officer, you'll support a broad range of transactional finance activities, including:

Purchase and sales ledger: Process invoices, supplier payments, BACS transactions and customer receipts.

Reconciliations: Complete bank reconciliations, maintain cashbooks and reconcile control accounts.

Housing income: Process rental income, housing benefit payments and factoring receipts.

Month-end support: Maintain accurate financial records, resolve queries and assist with reporting deadlines.

About You

Essential:

Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.

Practical experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using financial systems.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

Previous experience within a housing association or social housing organisation.

Experience processing rental income or housing benefit payments.

An AAT qualification or equivalent accounting experience.

What's on Offer?
