The Opportunity

An established and growing business based in Macclesfield is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its finance team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional who can make an immediate impact by managing customer accounts, maximising cash collection, and reducing aged debt.Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of a busy ledger, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure outstanding balances are collected efficiently while maintaining strong professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively chase outstanding debt via telephone, email, and written correspondence.

Investigate and resolve customer queries promptly to ensure timely payment.

Escalate complex or high-risk accounts where appropriate.

Monitor aged debt and identify opportunities to improve cash collection performance.

Carry out credit checks and due diligence on new customer accounts.

Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.

Maintain strong customer relationships while managing financial risk.

Support continuous improvement initiatives within the credit control function.

Assist with reporting and account reconciliation as required.

About You

Previous experience within a Credit Control position.

Proven track record of cash collection and reducing aged debt.

Target and KPI driven.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Experience using NetSuite or a similar ERP system would be advantageous.

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Available to start immediately or at short notice.
