Summary
Scarsdale Grange is a care home in Meersbrook, Sheffield, looking after older people and people living with dementia.
Job Role:
• Hanging doors and fixing broken items
• Small electrical jobs and PAT testing
• Keeping records of repairs
• Own tools provided
• Taught all manner of repairs and how to set up systems
• Learn the trade on the job at Scarsdale Grange, a care home for older people and those living with dementia
• Day to day: hanging doors, fixing things that break, small electrical jobs and PAT testing
• Keep a record of every repair you do
• Your own set of tools provided
• Shown how to do all manner of repairs and how to set up systems around the building
• Plumbing and drainage repairs
• Door and window repairs
• Plastering, painting and decorating
• Tiling and flooring repairs
• Safe working: PPE, risk assessments and safely isolating electrical supplies
Future Prospects: Learn the ropes with us and go on to take over as a fully established Property Maintenance Operative (PMO).
Desired skills:
DIY skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
Desired qualities:
Takes initiative, reliable and on time for early starts, and happy to ask when unsure. Good with people, as the job means working around residents, staff and visitors.
Working week: 40 Hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts: 6:30am – 2:30pm or 7:00am – 3:00pm.
No weekends (paid extra if needed).
Training: Delivery to be completed on site and off the job training either at Barnsley College or your place of work. Student to complete a Property Maintenance Operative Level 2.
