Job Purpose Summary

The Warehouse Metalworker reports to the Head of Manufacturing with a focus on combining reading blueprints and technical specifications with the use of warehouse machinery to fabricate, assemble and install precise metal components for Andolite International. This role is critical in ensuring that every hybrid, mixed-material, or metal-accented Andolite product leaving the facility meets exacting standards for safety, functionality, and finish.

The Warehouse Metalworker is essentially responsible for moving from raw outsourced sheet/block components to consistently completed goods, ensuring high quality and safety standards for Andolite International. This requires a secure working knowledge of welding and joining, machine operation, reading blueprints and reading and marking, in order to meet customer needs to a consistently high standard.

- Assembles metal components accurately through bolting, riveting, or soldering.

- Operates metalworking machinery such as press brakes, shears, saws, laser CNC systems, and welding (Mig, Tig, Laser) tools as core operational machinery.

- Conducts rigorous testing on all finished goods with metal components to ensure full safety and operational compliance.

- Contributes to data accuracy/cleanliness and up to date job status information in the Warehouse Management System (WMS), through ensuring consistent time logging data entry for assigned work orders.

Logistics and Quality Control

- Acts as a day-to-day representative of the Andolite team, interacting with suppliers and the customer where required to ensure requirements are understood and expectations are met.

- Receives inbound deliveries, inspects raw goods for damage and moves stock to production lines or storage areas.

- Coordinates the shipping of metalwork to local powder coaters for painting.

- Performs detailed quality checks on all raw metalwork items returning from subcontractors to ensure they meet Andolite standards before assembly begins.

Identifies and reports any defects in outsourced metalwork components immediately to prevent production delays.

- Completes and signs off Quality checks on metalwork products in advance of prepping for haulage, to support the consistent completion of high-quality goods.

Operations Management

- Maintains a safe, clean, and highly organised working environment at all times.

- Follows efficient workflow practices to allow for seamless integration of freelance support during peak periods.

- Assists with regular stock takes to ensure inventory levels for raw metalwork materials are accurate and assembly never stalls due to missing components.

- Follows standard operating procedures and contributes to the upkeep and accuracy of the Andolite production processes knowledge base.
