Your new role

As RLS Scheme Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a retirement living scheme, ensuring residents receive a safe, supportive and high-quality housing service. Acting as a visible presence within the scheme, you will build positive relationships with residents whilst ensuring the effective management of housing, wellbeing and compliance responsibilities.

Key duties will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of a retirement living scheme.
  • Supporting residents to maintain independent and sustainable tenancies.
  • Completing resident wellbeing and welfare visits.
  • Responding to safeguarding concerns and liaising with appropriate agencies.
  • Managing lettings, voids and tenancy-related matters.
  • Handling low-level ASB and neighbourhood issues.
  • Carrying out health and safety inspections and ensuring compliance standards are met.
  • Coordinating external support services and contractor visits.
  • Promoting resident engagement and fostering a positive community environment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and housing management systems.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within retirement living, sheltered housing, supported housing or housing management.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and resident wellbeing.
  • Experience managing tenancy-related issues and customer-focused casework.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a housing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • A compassionate, resident-focused approach.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive hourly rate of £18.63 per hour via Hays.
  • Full-time hours with a stable 3-month rolling contract.
  • Opportunity for contract extensions and potential permanent employment.
  • The chance to work within a well-regarded housing organisation making a genuine difference to residents' lives.
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Hays consultant throughout your assignment.
