Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We wish to appoint, as soon as possible, an enthusiastic individual to join our existing team of Cover Supervisors who provide high quality cover lessons for absent teaching staff. You will implement lesson plans prepared by teachers, and ensure an effective environment for learning. Cover Supervisors will need to register students promptly in line with our attendance and safeguarding procedures, respond to questions about the work that has been set, and generally assist students to undertake set activities and engage in learning, whilst promoting and implementing the schools ethos and policies.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and be able to use their initiative to respond to classroom situations. Candidates should be able to demonstrate positive and effective behaviour management techniques, flexibility and an ability to work under pressure. This role requires the postholder to adapt to different demands at short notice due to the nature of cover requirements.

This role would suit candidates who are looking to get into teaching or a teaching assistant who may wish to take a step into a teaching role. A candidate with a willingness to support extracurricular sports clubs and fixtures as part of the wider cover supervisor role would fit the role well.
