Summary

Working with our community team, you’ll help adults manage communication and swallowing needs, improving choice, independence and wellbeing.

You’ll deliver evidence-based care for a specialist caseload. You’ll work closely with patients, families, colleagues and partner organisations. A supported development pathway may be available for applicants who meet the entry-level requirements

What you’ll do:

• Assess communication and swallowing needs, then agree person-centred care plans

• Manage and prioritise a specialist caseload, including triaging referrals

• Provide advice, training and support to patients, families and professionals

• Maintain clear clinical records and use information securely

• Support junior colleagues, students, audits and service improvement

What we’re looking for:

• A recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification, with current professional registration and membership

• Knowledge of communication disorders and relevant assessment and treatment approaches

• Clear communication, sound clinical judgement and effective workload management

• Experience of working with patients and across professional teams

• A commitment to learning, reflective practice and high-quality, compassionate care
