This is an excellent opportunity to join a developing procurement function and take commercial ownership of a portfolio of technically complex components. You will support supplier strategy, commercial performance, operational continuity and wider business growth.
Your new role
- Develop and deliver sourcing strategies across assigned commodity areas
- Lead commercial negotiations and contract management activities
- Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships
- Drive improvements across cost, quality and delivery
- Identify and manage commercial and supplier risks
- Support supplier selection, development and performance reviews
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams
- Contribute to new product and business improvement projects
- Use market and supplier data to support commercial decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and performance
What you'll need to succeed
- You will have strategic procurement, category management or senior buying experience within a manufacturing, engineering or similarly technical environment.
- Experience developing sourcing or commodity strategies
- Strong commercial negotiation skills
- Strategic supplier and contract management experience
- A track record of delivering cost, quality or service improvements
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving capability
- Experience working with ERP or MRP systems
- A relevant procurement qualification, degree or equivalent experience
- CIPS accreditation, or progress towards it, would be advantageous.
