About the job
This is a new role, reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer. You will own the product roadmap across Clear Links Technologies systems and turn business priorities into a clear, prioritised backlog that the team can deliver.
A key part of the role will be helping to grow the business. You will identify and pursue new contracts, deepen relationships with existing clients, and help shape proposals, bids and tenders so that what we sell is something we can build well.
Alongside this, you will lead the planning and delivery of our projects and provide day-to-day leadership to the Technologies Team.
We are looking for someone who is just as comfortable meeting with clients as they are reviewing development priorities or supporting team members. You do not need to write code, but you will need enough technical understanding to judge what is feasible and to earn the trust of developers.
Responsibilities
Business development and growth
- Identify and pursue new contracts, and find ways to expand existing ones through additional services or product capabilities.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, partners and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to proposals, bids and tenders, including scope, timelines and resource needs.
- Support contract negotiations and the onboarding of new clients and projects.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and client needs to inform our growth strategy.
- Track and report on pipeline, activity and conversion.
Product ownership
- Own and manage the product roadmap across Clear Links Technologies systems.
- Maintain and prioritise the product backlog in line with strategy, capacity and user needs.
- Define requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria with internal teams, service users and clients.
- Review delivered features to make sure they achieve what they set out to.
Delivery
- Plan and lead system developments and projects, from scoping through to release.
- Manage risks, dependencies and scope changes.
- Make sure testing, deployment and communication processes are followed.
- Give senior leadership clear, regular reporting on progress, risks and priorities.
Team leadership and governance
- Line manage members of the Technologies Team, including 1:1s, performance reviews and development.
- Plan team capacity and allocate resources to match delivery priorities.
- Manage relationships with sub-contractors and partners.
- Act as the central point of contact for development requests and project updates.
- Maintain documentation and support our ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 management systems.
