Summary

Shape the future of data in a modern Fire and Rescue Service.

Reporting to the Information and Data Governance Manager, you'll lead the Data Management team, including line management for two Data Management Officers. Working closely with colleagues across Digital, Data and Technology and the wider Service, you will develop and embed effective data management, quality assurance and data lifecycle processes that support organisational objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence enterprise-wide data standards, improve data quality and literacy and ensure trusted information supports frontline and corporate services alike.

Key responsibilities:

Leading the development and implementation of enterprise data management policies, procedures and standards.

Championing data quality, integrity, ethical use and privacy by design.

Developing governance frameworks, data ownership arrangements and lifecycle management processes.

Overseeing data modelling, metadata, data dictionaries and data products throughout their lifecycle.

Supporting projects and departments to embed enterprise data requirements and into new and evolving systems.

Building data capability and literacy across the Service, enabling colleagues to use data confidentiality and effectively.

We're seeking a collaborative and influential leader with significant experience in data management and governance. You'll be equally comfortable shaping strategy, and delivering practical solutions, with the ability to build strong relationships, communicate complex concepts clearly, and inspire confidence in the value of data.

You'll be passionate about developing people, driving continuous improvement and creating a culture where trusted, high-quality data is recognised as a vital organisational asset.
