THE VIBE CHECK:
We don't do average. We produce exceptional, award-winning smoked fish for some of the most prestigious tables in London - and every one of those orders has to arrive on time, in full and perfectly chilled. That's where you come in.
We're looking for a reliable, organised Delivery Driver who takes real pride in their work, knows their way around London's roads, and understands that the person at the door is the face of the business. If you like being out on the road, keeping customers happy and getting the details right every time, keep reading.
WHO WE ARE:
Secret Smokehouse produces arguably the best smoked fish in the UK. You'll find us on the tables of The Ritz, Fortnum & Mason, and some of London's most celebrated Michelin-starred restaurants - and we do it all from an arch in Hackney since 2016.
We're growing fast, we're passionate about what we do, and we want people on the ride who feel the same way. This is a place where standards are high, the team is tight-knit, and your contribution genuinely matters.
THE ROLE:
As Delivery Driver, you're the last link in the chain - and often the only person from Secret Smokehouse our customers actually meet. You'll take wholesale and retail orders from the Smokehouse to customers' premises across London in our electric van, making sure everything arrives correct, on time and at the right temperature.
When you're not on the road, you'll be part of the team in the Smokehouse, helping pack and prepare orders - with real scope to get involved in production once you've been trained on our curing and smoking process.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
You don't need to know your gravlax from your pastrami. You do need to be:
- Holding a clean driving licence, and happy for Secret Smokehouse to carry out a driving licence check
- Experienced at driving in London
- Exceptionally organised and punctual, with great time-keeping
- Professional at all times, with excellent customer service and a warm, confident manner
- A strong communicator who keeps the team and customers in the loop
- Someone who takes pride in their work and does the job properly, every time
- Experience in multi-drop or food delivery is a real plus. A passion for food is a bonus - but reliability and the right attitude will always matter more.
WANT TO GO FURTHER? SO DO WE:
We're a growing business with serious ambitions - and we want our team to grow alongside us. There's real scope to move beyond the van and into production, learning how we cure and smoke our fish. If you bring the right skills and attitude, we'll back the people who back us.
THE GOOD STUFF:
- Competitive salary - discussed and agreed at interview based on experience
- 28 days holiday (including bank holidays, pro-rata)
- Pension
- Employee discount scheme - savings on everything from travel and groceries to insurance and financial products
- Family meal - because you should love what you eat too
- Wide range of training courses to build your knowledge and skills
- A real team - close-knit, passionate, and genuinely good fun to work with
