Your new company is a leader in their field based in Nottingham and are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your new role
- Lead and manage the finance function, providing guidance and support to the wider finance team.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting within agreed deadlines.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital and treasury activities.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis to support business decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory requirements including VAT and corporation tax.
- Coordinate year-end audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Review and improve financial processes, systems and controls to drive efficiency and scalability.
- Provide commercial and financial analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to challenge performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support business growth, acquisitions, system implementations and change projects as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
- Previous manufacturing experience is beneficial.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience.
- Proven ability to produce management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
- Experience managing or mentoring finance staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
- Organised, proactive and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
