Full time

As part of our commitment to the continued expansion of medical, pharmaceutical and health sciences at Bangor University, the North Wales Medical School seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to contribute to the development and delivery of our Pharmacy, Medicine, Physician Associate and Pharmacology programmes. We are looking for an outstanding individual, with substantial experience of teaching human physiology within a medical school/pharmacy school context, to lead on physiology teaching across these programmes. You will be an experienced educator with a track record of scholarly achievements. This post is advertised through a Teaching-focussed (T&S) route and dependent on experience and potential, the successful applicant may be appointed as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.

The successful candidate will be educated to PhD level or equivalent in physiology or a relevant subject area (e.g. medicine) and must have experience of teaching within a UK based school of pharmacy or medicine.

The post is full-time and permanent, and the successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as practical. Applications will also be considered from those who wish to carry out this role on a part-time or job-share basis with discussion and approval. This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.

Applications will only be accepted via our on-line recruitment website, jobs.bangor.ac.uk. However, in cases of access issues due to disability, paper application forms are available by telephoning 01248 383865. Interested applicants are invited to contact Professor Stephen Doughty, Professor of Pharmacy and Head of North Wales Medical School for an informal conversation prior to submission of an application, using e-mail s.doughty@bangor.ac.uk; or to Dr Joanna Edwards, Pharmacology lead and School Director of Teaching and Learning, email joanna.edwards@bangor.ac.uk.
