Children's Home Registered Manager
Salary: £50,000–£55,000 per annum
Location: Slyne, Lancaster, LA2
Home Size: 6-Bed complex care Children's Home
Salary & Benefits

What We're Looking For
• Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards one, alongside NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
• Experience managing staff teams and leading high-quality residential childcare
• Ability to manage risk, respond to incidents and maintain effective safeguarding arrangements
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a professional and resilient approach
• Commitment to child-centred care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
• Passion for children's residential care and developing a high-performing staff team
Key Roles & Responsibilities
• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the established 6-bed complex care children's home
• Deliver safe, nurturing and high-quality care for children aged 8–18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Provide confident leadership and ensure care is child-centred, outcomes-focused and tailored to each child's needs
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted requirements, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
• Lead safeguarding practice, ensuring robust systems are in place to protect children's welfare
• Oversee care plans, risk assessments, behaviour support strategies and incident management
• Ensure safe staffing arrangements and effective day-to-day operational management
• Recruit, supervise, mentor and develop staff to maintain high standards of care
• Provide regular supervision, reflective practice and care-focused training
• Build effective relationships with social workers, placing authorities, families and other professionals
• Promote effective multi-agency working to improve outcomes for children
• Monitor service quality and lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with the Responsible Individual and wider senior leadership team to maintain strong standards of care and compliance
• Contribute to best practice, shared learning and wider organisational development
