Summary

Birmingham Newman University is embarking on an exciting period of transformation through its new Be More: Our Future, Our Birmingham Newman Vision and Strategy, which sets out an ambitious roadmap achieving the best outcomes for our students, growing the University in a sustainable way, and extending our distinctive contribution our students make to our communities and societies. One of its key strategic priorities is transforming systems and ways of working. The transformation of the University's Student Records System (SRS) is central to this - creating modern, efficient and integrated processes that support the entire student lifecycle. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Student Records System Transformation Programme Manager to lead this flagship transformation programme and help deliver lasting change across the institution.

About the Role

You will provide strategic leadership for the University's multi-year SRS Transformation Programme and will work with the University Secretary and Chief Strategy Officer to build the core transformation team and related infrastructure, and inspire the critical engagement of colleagues across the University. The programme encompasses student lifecycle process redesign, data quality and governance improvements, stabilisation of existing systems, and the selection and implementation of a future student records platform.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage the overall SRS Transformation programme and project plans, aligning timelines, milestones, resources, and interdependencies to deliver the programme's strategic outcomes and benefits.

Establish and lead the core programme team, robust programme governance, reporting and assurance arrangements.

Proactively identify, assess and manage programme-level risks, budgets, resources, dependencies and milestones.

Provide oversight of multiple projects and technical workstreams.

Support business case development, including quantifying benefit realisation and selection of the future technological solution.

Drive stakeholder engagement, communications, change readiness and benefits realisation in collaboration with a range of stakeholders and SMEs.

Lead programme assurance and gateway reviews to ensure quality and strategic alignment.
