Summary
MOT Tester / MOT Technician – Newport
We are recruiting for an experienced MOT Tester, MOT Technician or Vehicle Tester to join a growing automotive service centre in Newport. Applicants must have previous MOT testing and Vehicle Technician experience, hold a valid MOT Tester Licence, a Full UK Driving Licence and have the right to work in the UK. A Level 3 qualification is not required, as full training and qualifications will be provided.
Location: Newport
Salary: £32,500 Basic + Uncapped Bonus
OTE: £36,100 (including £3,600 bonus)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm | Saturdays 8:30am – 4:00pm on a rota, with a weekday off

MOT Tester Role
- Carry out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA regulations
- Complete vehicle inspections and identify necessary repairs
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and light vehicle repairs
- Assist with fast-fit services including tyres when required
- Complete MOT documentation accurately and efficiently
- Work alongside Vehicle Technicians and Service Advisors to achieve workshop targets
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and compliance
MOT Tester Requirements
- Valid MOT Tester Licence – essential
- Previous experience as an MOT Tester or MOT Technician
- Previous hands-on experience as a Vehicle Technician or Automotive Technician
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Good understanding of DVSA testing standards and procedures
- Willingness to complete Level 3 and Hybrid vehicle qualifications
A Level 3 qualification is not essential. Experienced MOT Testers with practical mechanical experience are encouraged to apply.
