Full time hours on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of childcare and family law matters, including care proceedings, supervision orders, emergency protection orders, and adoption cases.
- Provide legal advice to social workers, senior managers, and other stakeholders on child protection, safeguarding, and family law issues.
- Draft and review legal documents, court applications, witness statements, and reports.
- Represent clients and instruct Counsel in court proceedings where required.
- Attend case conferences, strategy meetings, legal planning meetings, and multidisciplinary forums.
- Advise on compliance with relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, Adoption and Children Act 2002, Human Rights Act 1998, and associated statutory guidance.
- Support the progression of cases through the court system, ensuring compliance with court directions and deadlines.
- Assess legal risks and provide practical solutions to support decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with social care teams, external agencies, and legal professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
- Maintain accurate case records and management information.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, case law, and best practice within childcare and family law.
