We are looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Complex Needs Resource Base team at Frogwell Primary School. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with complex learning needs, supporting their development, wellbeing, communication and independence.

Initially, this appointment will be fixed-term until 22 July 2027.

We are looking for applicants who:Have a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).Understand that every child is unique and can adapt their approach to meet individual learning, communication, emotional and physical needs.Have a patient, calm and nurturing nature, with the resilience and flexibility needed to respond to the changing needs of pupils.Can build positive, trusting relationships with children and encourage their confidence, independence and engagement in learning.Are able to work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues to provide consistent, individualised support.Have a good understanding of child development and the importance of creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.Have a good sense of humour and a positive, can-do attitude.Experience of working with children with SEND would be an advantage, but we are equally interested in hearing from applicants who have the right qualities, attitude and enthusiasm to make a difference. Training and support will be provided to the successful applicant.

Frogwell Primary School is a caring and highly inclusive, one-form-entry mainstream school with a supportive and welcoming staff team. We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment that supports all children to be physically, emotionally, mentally and socially healthy. Our school also hosts a Complex Needs Resource Base, which provides specialist support for pupils with additional learning needs.Working within our Resource Base, you will help pupils access learning opportunities tailored to their individual needs, develop their communication and social skills, and build confidence and independence. You will play an important role in ensuring that every child feels safe, valued and supported to achieve their potential.

The post of Teaching Assistant will be:5.15 hours per day, for 5 days per week, term time only.Working hours: 8:30am–12:00pm and 1:30pm–3:15pm.Midday Meals Supervisor (MDSA):The successful applicant will also be expected to join our Midday Meals Team. The hours for this role are 1 hour per day, from 12:00pm–1:00pm, for 5 days per week, term time only.
