All midwives applying with an NMC pin need to have worked in the UK as a midwife

An exciting opportunity has arisen for  experienced midwives to join our inpatient and community services. A Triage Midwife provides the first point of assessment for pregnant and postnatal women who contact or attend maternity triage. We offer a comprehensive preceptorship package and excellent support for new starters

We have a part time position available in our friendly and supportive  teams  across the county with roles available in inpatient areas and community to include supporting women choosing homebirths on an on-call basis.

Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust is committed to providing staff with learning and development opportunities to support their career progression.

We offer opportunities to work alongside specialist services including our internationally acclaimed spinal unit. Our maternity services provide care for approximately 4,800 women and their families. We offer a variety of birth choices for our diverse population and have a dedicated suite for women experiencing bereavement. We have a level 2 neonatal service and close links with the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Triage Midwife provides the first point of assessment for pregnant and postnatal women who contact or attend maternity triage. The role involves using the BSOTS (Birmingham Symptom-specific Obstetric Triage System) to undertake structured assessment and prioritise women according to clinical urgency. Responsibilities include assessing presenting symptoms, completing appropriate maternal and fetal observations, identifying risk factors, providing advice and reassurance, arranging investigations and treatment, and escalating concerns to the appropriate obstetric or multidisciplinary team. The midwife also supports effective patient flow, safe decision-making, timely referral and accurate documentation, ensuring women receive appropriate care within the maternity pathway.
