Flexible Supply Teaching Assistant (Primary & Secondary)

We are currently recruiting supply Teaching Assistants for day-to-day placements across local primary and secondary schools. Job Description
Location: Plymouth
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday, Flexible Days)
Pay Rate: £92.56 - £95.00 per day
Contract Type: Temporary / Day-to-Day Supply
Responsibilities
1:1 Support: Provide dedicated, tailored assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), emotional/behavioural needs, or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
Classroom Assistance: Support the main class teacher with group activities, resource setup, and maintaining an encouraging learning environment.
Pupil Engagement: Help students stay focused, break down complex tasks, and assist with emotional regulation throughout the school day.
Adaptability: Jump seamlessly into different classroom settings and quickly build positive rapport with staff and pupils.
Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care, or youth setting.
- Experience or confidence working 1:1 with SEND or complex needs is highly desirable.
- A patient, proactive, and resilient approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Strong communication skills and a reliable, punctual work ethic.
