Morgan Hunt is recruiting a

Communication Support Worker to support deaf and hearing-impaired learners aged

16-19 within a further education college in East London.

This is an opportunity to help learners access their education, participate in college life and develop their confidence and independence.

The role

Provide communication support using British Sign Language during lessons and college activities.

Support learners in understanding teaching materials, instructions and discussions.

Facilitate communication between learners, teaching staff and their peers.

Work closely with lecturers and learning support staff to meet individual support needs.

Encourage learner participation, independence and progression.

Promote safeguarding, inclusion and learner wellbeing.

What we're looking for

A BSL Level 3 qualification is essential.

Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired learners.

An understanding of the barriers learners may face in an educational setting.

Strong communication skills and a patient, adaptable approach.

A commitment to safeguarding and creating an inclusive learning environment.
