Summary
The post-holder will be responsible for clinical and operational management of the main Outpatients Service at the Chelsea and Westminster site, ensuring the safe and effective day-to-day running of the departments. They will oversee a large team of healthcare staff; providing leadership and professional development for nursing, support workers, and other multi-disciplinary members within the area. In conjunction with the General Manager and Deputy General Manager, the post-holder will be responsible for the development of the outpatient service, exploring opportunities to amend and improve models of care (e.g. three session days, development of one-stop services etc). The post holder will oversee the budget of the Chelsea sites main Outpatients team, and so utilise the nursing workforce, and associated spends on clinical and non-clinical supplies, in a cost-efficient way but so as not to compromise clinical care standards. They will provide professional advice and support to the whole multidisciplinary team in caring for patients within the outpatient setting. The post holder will work in partnership with Clinical teams, Managers, and the Outpatients administrative teams to ensure that the service meets the needs of our patients and is responsive to complaints/feedback. The post holder will lead on the delivery of high quality compassionate care and for further improving the patient experience, through proactive professional leadership. This will include leading on departmental accreditation improvement plans. The post holder will also provide nursing leadership for implementation and evaluation of all education, training and development of staff. They will develop, implement and evaluate policies, guidelines and protocols for the management of patients attending the department with minor, major and/or life threatening injuries and illness. They will be responsible for the interpretation of and maintaining compliance with Trust policies.
