Summary
Job Title: Quality Manager (3 Days per Week) Department: Pathology Location: 116 Harley Street Salary: Dependent on Experience Help us make Q-Pulse part of how quality happens every day, not just where quality documents live. Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where quality, compliance and continuous improvement are integral to patient care? Behind every test result, diagnosis and clinical decision is a dedicated team working to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety and reliability. At The London Clinic Pathology, quality is more than a regulatory requirement. It's fundamental to everything we do. We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Quality Manager to help drive the next stage of our quality journey. A key focus of this role will be further embedding Q-Pulse across our Pathology service, ensuring it becomes a practical, valuable tool that supports quality management, risk reduction and continuous improvement across all laboratory disciplines. Working closely with laboratory teams and senior leaders, you'll help maximise the use of Q-Pulse across document control, incidents and non-conformances, CAPA, audits, risk management, training and quality metrics. You'll identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve visibility and reporting, and encourage engagement with the quality management system across the department. This is not simply a role maintaining an existing quality management system. We're looking for someone who can challenge established ways of working, improve system configuration and workflows, drive user adoption and help foster a proactive quality culture throughout a complex and evolving diagnostic service. If you have experience working within an ISO 15189 accredited laboratory environment, understand the requirements of UKAS accreditation, and enjoy translating quality systems into practical improvements that benefit both staff and patients, we'd love to hear from you. What you'll be doing: Participate in management meetings and contribute to departmental decision-making, strategy and policy development. Maintain a detailed understanding of the areas for which you are responsible, including statutory and accreditation requirements, governance frameworks, risk management processes, audit programmes, CAPA activities and pathology policies and procedures. Promote and deliver education and training in quality management principles and best practice across the Pathology service. Maintain and develop the Pathology Quality Manual, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Manage and continuously improve document control processes within the Quality Management System. Investigate service complaints, incidents and non-conformances, ensuring appropriate immediate actions are taken and robust corrective actions are implemented and monitored. Lead and coordinate internal audit programmes against defined quality objectives and performance measures, ensuring effective follow-up and continuous improvement. Support external inspections and assessments, coordinating responses to findings and ensuring corrective actions are completed and evidenced appropriately. Monitor feedback and requirements from pathology service users, ensuring these are reflected in quality objectives and performance measures. Provide expert advice and support to Discipline Managers, Chief Biomedical Scientists and Quality Leads on quality management matters. What we're looking for? We're seeking a collaborative and influential quality professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to engage colleagues across a busy laboratory environment. You will be passionate about continuous improvement, comfortable challenging existing practices and experienced in supporting quality within an accredited pathology setting.
