Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination, management, and delivery of a high-profile research and implementation programme aimed at reducing inequalities in access to eye care services across London's underserved communities. Working closely with clinical, academic, operational, digital, and commissioning partners, the postholder will ensure the successful delivery of programme objectives within agreed timescales, budgets, and governance requirements. The successful candidate will provide leadership and coordination across multiple workstreams, developing and maintaining project plans, monitoring progress against milestones, and ensuring effective communication between stakeholders. They will establish and support programme governance structures, including Steering Group meetings, and will prepare reports, papers, and updates for senior stakeholders, funders, and partner organisations. The role requires effective management of project risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions, ensuring that appropriate controls and mitigation plans are in place. The Project Manager will maintain programme documentation, action logs, RAID logs, and reporting systems to support successful programme delivery. The postholder will build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including NHS organisations, Integrated Care Boards, academic institutions, community representatives, optometrists, and Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) representatives. They will support stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, and implementation events to facilitate collaboration and the adoption of programme outputs into routine practice. The Project Manager will also oversee programme finances, monitoring budgets, expenditure, forecasts, and funding claims, ensuring resources are managed effectively and in accordance with funding requirements. They will work closely with finance teams to track spend, process invoices, and provide regular financial updates to programme leads and governance groups. In addition, the postholder will support compliance with research governance, information governance, and regulatory requirements, including the coordination of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs), and ethics approvals where required.
