Summary

Business Development Specialist

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 per annum + performance-based bonus

About Our Client

Our client is the operating system for private healthcare.

They build technology that helps Consultants and their teams run better practices, bringing together everything from patient records and communication to appointments, billing, payments and the day-to-day administration of a practice.

They care deeply about the product they build, and the experience people have, from the very first conversation.

The Role

Our client is looking for a Business Development Specialist to join their Growth team.

This is not a traditional sales role. They are not looking for someone who wants to work through a script, push for a close or sell software for the sake of hitting a number. They are looking for someone who can understand what they do, why it matters and where it can genuinely make a private practice better.

You will often be the first person someone speaks to. That makes this an incredibly important role. You will speak to Consultants, Practice Managers, Secretaries and other people working across private healthcare, understand how their practices operate and help them see what running their practice on our client could look like. Sometimes that means introducing someone to our client for the first time. Sometimes it means understanding a problem they are trying to solve. Sometimes it means showing them a completely different way of running their practice.

The common thread is that you need to be curious, thoughtful and very good with people. You will join a small Growth team and work closely with colleagues across the wider business, with plenty of autonomy and responsibility for your own opportunities.

What You Will Do:

- Lead discovery conversations and product demonstrations with prospective customers, primarily via video call, and manage follow-up through email and phone where appropriate.

- Speak with prospective customers and understand their practice, their current systems and what they are trying to achieve.

- Introduce our client in a way that is relevant to the person you are speaking to, rather than delivering a generic sales pitch.

- Demonstrate our client and explain how different parts of the platform can work together as the operating system for a private practice.

- Build genuine relationships with Consultants, Practice Managers, Secretaries and other healthcare professionals.

- Take ownership of opportunities from first contact through to subscription, keeping momentum without creating pressure.

- Proactively research Consultants and practices that could benefit from our client and reach out through thoughtful, targeted communication. They favour relevance and quality over high-volume outreach.

- Maintain a strong understanding of our client as the product continues to evolve, including new features, integrations and ways of working.

- Keep accurate records of conversations and opportunities so that the wider team has a clear view of the customer journey.

- Work closely with Marketing, Platform Success, Support and Product, sharing what you are hearing from prospective customers and helping them continually improve people's experiences.

What They'r Looking For:

- You are a self-starter. You do not need someone constantly telling you who to contact, what to do next or how to keep an opportunity moving.

- You are naturally good with people. You can speak confidently with a Consultant one minute and a Practice Administrator the next, adapting how you communicate without losing who you are.

- You are curious. You ask good questions because you actually want to understand how somebody's practice works before deciding what might help them.

- You can learn a complex product properly. They do a lot, and the strongest people in this role will understand the platform well enough to connect its capabilities to the problems sitting in front of them.

- You are commercially minded. You are comfortable owning a pipeline and working towards growth goals, but you believe the strongest sales conversations come from understanding the customer properly rather than applying pressure.

- You take ownership. If you spot an opportunity, a problem or something that could be done better, your instinct is to do something about it.

- Most importantly, you understand that you are representing them from the very first interaction. How you communicate, follow up, prepare and treat people matters.

- Previous experience in SaaS, healthcare, consultative sales or another customer-facing commercial role would be useful, but they care just as much about how you think, communicate and learn.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is not simply about how many calls you make. It is about creating high-quality conversations with the right people, understanding their practices and helping them make a confident decision about whether our client is right for them.

You will build a strong pipeline, convert the right opportunities into customers and create the kind of first experience that sets those customers up for a long relationship.

They want people who become genuinely knowledgeable about private practice and genuinely excited about what our client can do for it.

What Our Client Offers:

- Salary in the range of £34k - £38k plus discretionary annual bonus.

- Optional in-person time in Fulham, London.

- Equipment you need to do your best work.
