Summary

Job Title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Location: LLanddewi Brefi area (Work to be undertaken at this location)

Hours: 12.25 hours per week, working as part of a 2:1 support arrangement

Pay: £14.50 per hour

Working Pattern: Flexible, days and hours can be agreed with the family

About the Role

We are looking for reliable, compassionate, and experienced team of Personal Assistants to provide 2:1 support with personal care and daily living tasks.

Previous experience supporting autistic individuals is required for this role. The role requires a patient, respectful and person-centred approach, promoting independence wherever possible. The individual also has a hearing impairment, so PAs must communicate clearly and check understanding where appropriate.

Experience and confidence in providing continence and commode care is essential, as this may be required during each care call.

The individual uses a walker, and the PA must ensure that the walker is left safely and within easy reach at the end of each call.

You will be required to keep a record of your call to pass on to the next team of PAs and raise any concerns with the employer direct.

Key Responsibilities

Morning Call – 45 minutes

• Support with washing and dressing.

• Support with a strip wash, providing the necessary equipment so the individual can complete tasks as independently as possible.

• Support with continence and commode care as required.

• Prepare and provide breakfast.

• Provide hot and cold drinks for the morning.

• Ensure the individual's walker is safely positioned within reach before leaving.

• Ensure the area is left clean and tidy.

Lunch Call – 30 minutes

• Prepare and provide the individual's lunch.

• Provide hot and cold drinks.

• Provide snacks and drinks to be left within easy reach for the afternoon.

• Provide continence and commode care as required.

• Support with maintaining a clean and comfortable home environment.

• Change and wash bedding as required.

• Ensure the individual's walker is safely positioned within reach.

• Clean and put away any items used during the call.

Evening Call – 30 minutes

• Support with changing into nightwear.

• Provide continence and commode care as required.

• Prepare and provide the evening meal.

• Provide hot and cold drinks as required.

• Offer support with going to bed where required.

• Ensure the individual's walker is safely positioned as appropriate.

• Leave the property clean, tidy and safe.
