Summary

Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) - Tramping - Majority box trailers (some curtain side)

Location: Rochdale

Pay Rate: £170.00 - £190.51 p/d + £26.20 per night out

Shifts: Sunday to Friday (average shift around 11 hours)

Experience: 12 months Class 1 experience essential

Ignition Driver Recruitment are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to work with our client in Rochdale.

Depots are based just of motorways so minimal city centre driving, and all tours start on a Sunday, anytime from 02:00 – 23:00, they finish either Thursday or early hours Friday morning.

Drivers must complete a DBS check, Drug & Alcohol test, and site induction before starting. Cost will be covered by our client.

No manual work, drivers are not allowed on the back of trailers.

The Role

As a professional HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties may include:

- Majority Box Trailer work with limited Curtain Side work

- No handballing required - drivers not permitted to enter the trailers

- Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting

- Complying with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and Road Transport regulations

- Completing all relevant paperwork and electronic records accurately

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

- A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence

- At least 12 months' commercial Class 1 driving experience

- A valid Driver CPC qualification (DCPC) and a valid Digital Tachograph Card

- A professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety and customer service

Our client may accept up to 6 penalty points. Unfortunately, applications with DD, DR, CD, IN or TT endorsements cannot be accepted.

Applicants must be UK residents and able to travel independently to and from the site. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
