A well-established and growing SME business is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its close-knit finance team. Your new role

As Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a designated sales ledger and maintaining strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices. Reporting into the senior credit control function, you will play a key role in minimising financial risk, maximising cash collection, and resolving account queries efficiently.Key responsibilities will include:

Chasing outstanding debts and making regular customer contact.

Managing customer credit limits and monitoring account exposures.

Setting up new customer accounts and carrying out credit checks.

Building and maintaining positive customer relationships.

Reconciling customer accounts and resolving payment queries.

Ensuring aged debt remains at a minimum across your ledger.

Delivering agreed credit control targets and KPIs.

Supporting a positive team culture and contributing to a high-performing finance function.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a credit control or accounts receivable environment and be confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels.You will also demonstrate:

Proven credit control experience.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.

Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

A professional and customer-focused approach.

Confidence in handling difficult conversations when required.

The ability to investigate and resolve account queries effectively.

Experience working within an SME environment would be advantageous.

A proactive, adaptable, and resilient mindset.
