JOB OVERVIEW
This is an excellent opportunity for a Compliance Officer / Information Governance Officer to build on broad governance experience in a practical, operational role supporting regulatory, certification and NHS requirements.
Working across IT, HR and operational teams, the Compliance Officer / Information Governance Officer will help keep GDPR, ISO and DSPT activity organised, documented and audit-ready.
The Compliance Officer / Information Governance Officer will coordinate evidence, reporting and actions, support supplier due diligence and help the organisation respond to evolving compliance and legislative requirements.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Compliance Officer / Information Governance Officer include:
• Compliance Records and Evidence: Maintain DSAR logs, DPIA registers, risk registers, DSPT action plans and audit-ready evidence
• DSPT and ISO Coordination: Support the annual DSPT submission and maintain ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 controlled documentation
• Audit Preparation: Coordinate evidence and preparation for internal and external audits
• Data Protection Support: Track DSARs, DPIAs and other data protection activities
• Training and Supplier Compliance: Monitor compliance training, follow up gaps and support supplier due diligence and assessments
• Reporting and Action Tracking: Produce reports, dashboards and management information, identify control or evidence gaps and drive actions to completion
• Regulatory and Contract Support: Support compliance for NHS contracts, tender opportunities and emerging regulatory, compliance and legislative requirements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience in compliance, governance, information governance, audit or similar support
• Strong organisation and attention to detail, with experience maintaining records, trackers, controlled documentation or audit evidence
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, priorities and workstreams
• Good understanding of GDPR and data protection principles
• Confidence working across IT, HR and operational teams
• Good Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
DESIRABLE
• Experience with ISO 27001, ISO 9001 or similar management systems
• Experience supporting NHS DSPT compliance activities
• Exposure to DPIAs, DSARs, incident management or audit processes
• Experience within healthcare, NHS or another regulated environment
• Information governance, compliance or audit-related qualifications
