Join a brand-new manufacturing operation in Corby

Are you an experienced

Plastic Injection Moulding Setter looking for your next challenge?

Aqumen Recruitment is working on behalf of an established manufacturing client as they build the team for their

production plant. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Corby operation at an exciting stage of its development and play an important role in establishing a high-performing production environment.

We’re looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Setter with strong injection moulding knowledge who can confidently carry out mould changes, machine set-ups and processing while maintaining excellent standards of

quality, safety and efficiency.

The facility will initially operate around

20 injection moulding machines ranging from 150 to 450 tonnes, providing a busy, high-volume manufacturing environment where your technical knowledge and problem-solving ability will make a real difference.

What you’ll be doing

Working as part of the production team, you’ll take responsibility for ensuring injection moulding machines, auxiliary equipment and associated automated systems are correctly set and operating within the required parameters.

Your responsibilities will include:

    • Setting up, changing and starting injection moulding machines safely and efficiently.

    • Processing machines to achieve consistent, high-quality production.

    • Checking finished products using calipers, optical equipment and other testing methods.

    • Monitoring production and troubleshooting processing or equipment issues.

    • Identifying the root causes of problems and helping prevent repeat quality issues.

    • Carrying out preventative maintenance activities and documenting process changes.

    • Working to minimise material scrap, helping reduce both environmental impact and production costs.

    • Providing practical feedback on mould design and working alongside Tool & Die Makers to optimise moulds for

    quality and cycle time.

    • Working closely with Mechanical Engineers, Electricians and other colleagues to minimise equipment downtime.

    • Following all relevant risk assessments and Environment, Health & Safety procedures.

Training will be provided to help you become fully familiar with the site's equipment, processes and operating standards.

    What we’re looking for

    You’ll ideally have

hands-on plastic injection moulding experience, covering the process from mould setting through to successful production.

Essential qualification: You must hold an

IMT Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Injection Moulding, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

    You should also bring:

      • Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines, tooling and associated equipment.

      • Experience within a

      high-volume injection moulding environment.

      • Experience working safely with overhead cranes and injection moulding tools.

      • Good processing and troubleshooting skills.

      • The confidence to analyse problems and make sound decisions.

      • A proactive, solution-focused approach to your work.

      • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider technical team.

      • A strong commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

      The working environment

You’ll be based in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment, although temperatures can occasionally vary between hot and cold. The production environment includes continuous machinery noise and occasional non-toxic fumes.

This is a hands-on position within a fast-paced manufacturing operation, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, keeping production moving and working as part of a skilled team.

      Why consider this opportunity?

This isn’t simply an opportunity to join an established production line. You’ll be joining at an exciting stage in the development of a

new manufacturing plant in Corby, giving you the chance to contribute your experience as the operation grows.

      With a

£40,000 salary, Monday-to-Friday working pattern and no weekend shifts in the standard rotation, this could be an excellent next move for an experienced Injection Mould Setter looking for stability and a fresh challenge.

Interested? Apply today to find out more about the opportunity and take the next step in your injection moulding career.
