Summary

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for

HGV Class 1 (CE) Drivers for an ongoing

trunking and shunting position with our prominent client based in

Team Valley, Gateshead.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced

HGV Class 1 Driver looking for regular, ongoing work with a

4 on / 2 off shift pattern, competitive pay rates and a genuine

temp-to-perm opportunity.

The Role

HGV Class 1 Trunking: Completing trunking work safely and efficiently, delivering and collecting goods between sites.

Shunting: Moving HGV vehicles and trailers around the client's secure site as required.

No multi-drop: This role focuses on trunking and shunting rather than multi-drop deliveries.

Vehicle safety: Carrying out the necessary vehicle checks and ensuring all loads are transported safely and securely.

Ongoing work: This is an ongoing temporary position with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Hours of Work

4 on / 2 off shift pattern

8:00am starts

Monday to Sunday working, including weekends and bank holidays as required

Regular, ongoing work

Pay Rates

Monday to Friday: £14.37 per hour

Monday to Friday after 8 hours: £18.45 per hour

Saturday: £17.68 per hour

Sunday: £19.48 per hour

Bank Holidays: £21.52 per hour

The Candidate Requirements

Licence: A valid UK

HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving licence.

CPC: A valid Driver CPC qualification.

Digital Tachograph: A valid Digital Tachograph Card.

Experience: Previous

HGV Class 1, trunking or shunting experience is preferred.

Reliability: A strong attendance record and a flexible approach to working a 4 on / 2 off rota are essential.

Location: Applicants should be able to reliably commute to

Team Valley, Gateshead/Newcastle.
