Summary

We are expanding our Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist teams here at Imperial, and this is an exciting opportunity to take onband 7 Clinical Nurse Specialistrolein either Upper GI or the Teenage and young adults (TYA) services. 

We are seekingexperienced Cancernurses,preferablywithaCNSbackground,who haverelevant clinicalexpertise.You should have knowledge within the tumour speciality and be able todemonstrateadvanced communication andclinical skills.You should be enthusiastic, forward thinking and motivated to join these busy services.  

You will have the opportunity to gainexperience working withinaMDT and developing your leadership skills.You will work autonomously and as part of a team, to deliver excellent clinical care, and improve patientexperience within the speciality.  

This isa great opportunityto develop your experience as a cancer CNS, enhancing your leadership and clinical skills in a specialist cancer unit. 

Our services work across 3 hospital sites, some roles may require cross site travel. 

 

• A clinical nurse specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse with relevant experience 

and post-registration education for working at an enhanced level within a specific 

area of practice. They assess, manage, deliver care, advise on, and support 

patients. 

• CNSs have the autonomy to act and accept responsibility and accountability for 

their actions, acting as a skilled advisor for patients, or a resource for others.  

• CNSs perform specialist holistic assessment and treatment using a personalised 

approach. This is characterised by a level of decision making based on detailed 

knowledge and understanding of their area of practice. 

• As part of the multidisciplinary team CNSs can work in or across many settings, 

depending on their area of expertise and scope of practice.
