As a Business Case Manager, Investment, you'll play a key role in supporting investment planning, prioritisation and financial management across a diverse portfolio of digital initiatives. Working within the Portfolio Management Hub, you'll help ensure investment decisions are aligned to strategic objectives and deliver measurable benefits.

You'll coordinate the development of business cases, providing guidance to project teams and ensuring proposals meet organisational and HM Treasury standards. Working closely with stakeholders across the department, you'll support governance processes, monitor investment performance, track benefits realisation and provide clear financial reporting to inform decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in project delivery, PMO, or portfolio support who wants to broaden their expertise in investment management. You'll contribute to high-profile digital programmes, influence funding decisions, and help ensure public money is invested effectively to deliver lasting value across the Department for Transport.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Supporting the coordination of investment planning activities, helping to maintain a consolidated investment plan aligned with DIS goals and priorities. 
  • Assisting in facilitating governance processes, contributing to portfolio prioritisation decisions based on value, impact, and readiness. 
  • Monitoring investment approval processes and maintain records of funding decisions, ensuring alignment with organisational controls. 
  • Tracking investment performance against planned benefits and ROI targets, escalating variances.
  • Supporting financial modelling, data collection, and analysis activities to inform strategic portfolio decisions.
