Summary

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial vehicle business for an experienced MET Technician to join their team in Billingham. This is a genuine opportunity for a skilled MET Technician to work with a reputable company that has traded successfully for over 50 years, offering stability and career growth.

Duties of the MET Technician:

- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in commercial vehicles

- Install, maintain, and repair vehicle wiring systems and electrical components

- Work on lighting, indicators, electrical braking, starters, alternators, and battery systems

- Service and repair ECU systems, telematics, tracking devices, and cameras

- Maintain and repair air conditioning electrical systems

- Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot electrical issues

- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and vehicle standards

- Prepare vehicles for MOT, checking and repairing electrical faults

- Follow wiring diagrams and technical manuals accurately

- Maintain detailed records of repairs and parts used

Requirements of the MET Technician:

- Level 2 qualification or equivalent (NVQ/City & Guilds) in relevant electrical trade

- Proven experience installing electrical systems in vehicles

- Full UK driving license

- A proactive attitude and problem-solving ability

- Ability to work efficiently and to high standards under pressure
