What skills and experience we're looking for
• Experience of working with children, ideally within the Early Years Foundation Stage and/or with children with SEND.
• A good understanding of child development and the ability to recognise and respond to individual learning and support needs.
• Good literacy, numeracy and spoken and written English skills.
• Ability to support learning through play, small-group activities and targeted interventions.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• A calm, caring, flexible and adaptable approach, with a positive attitude to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
• Experience of supporting children's social, emotional and communication development.
• Understanding of safeguarding and a strong commitment to promoting children's welfare.
• Good organisation, punctuality, time-management and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality, equality, inclusion and the school's Catholic ethos.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and contribute to ongoing professional development.
• Desirable: experience or training in speech and language, emotional literacy/nurture programmes, SEND interventions or First Aid.

Further details about the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive school community as a Teaching and Learning Assistant in our Early Years team. You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help children develop their confidence, independence and enthusiasm for learning.
The role is varied and rewarding, involving support for learning through play, individual and small-group activities, classroom routines and targeted interventions. You will work closely with the Class Teacher and Inclusion Manager and may support children with a range of learning, communication, social and emotional needs, including SEND.
We are looking for someone who is caring, enthusiastic and committed to helping every child achieve their potential. You will need to be able to build positive relationships with children and adults, work collaboratively as part of a team and respond flexibly to the needs of pupils and the wider school.
