A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 17-year-old girl living in the Llantwit Fardre area with my parents and two dogs. I am an easy going and talkative person who enjoys listening to all sorts of music, watching films and critiquing and reviewing these and I like to watch theatre shows. I also love taking photos, Instagram and using digital media in general.

I have a diagnosis of epilepsy, and I am a full-time wheelchair user. I can also get overwhelmed/anxious when in very crowded places.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking for a PA to support me to interact with the community and build a relationship away from my family. This will also help me to build some independence socially.

HOURS OF WORK

I have 8 hours per week to use flexibly.

RATES OF PAY

£15 per hour.

TASKS INVOLVED

Taking me out into the community. This will potentially be using my parents adapted vehicle or your own vehicle.

Pushing me in my wheelchair if not using my powered one.

Taking me to activity centres and supporting me whilst there.

Going out for tea and cake locally.

Going shopping together.

Personal care when required, this will be toileting support.

An epilepsy course is required before starting, this is to administer buccal midazolam should I have a seizure. You will also need my epilepsy plan.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
