Summary
Senior Freight Operations Coordinator – £40,000+ – St Albans
• Salary: £40,000+ depending on experience
• Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
• Vacancy Type: Permanent
• Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm plus one Saturday morning every four
weeks, 8:30am–11:00am
• Holiday: 22 days + Bank Holidays and Company Pension
The Opportunity
• Exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Freight Operations Coordinator to
• join a successful and established European freight forwarding business.
• Take ownership of UK and European freight movements from start to finish as
• part of an experienced logistics team.
• Fast-paced, commercial role combining freight operations, customer service
• and negotiation.
• Ideal for an experienced Freight Forwarder, European Road Freight Operator,
• Import/Export Coordinator or Shipping Coordinator looking for their next move.
What You'll Be Doing
• Coordinating UK and European freight movements.
• Managing shipments from customer instruction through to delivery.
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, carriers and suppliers.
• Negotiating competitive rates and cost-effective freight solutions.
• Preparing customs and import/export documentation.
• Building strong relationships with customers.
• Resolving operational issues and keeping shipments moving.
• Identifying opportunities to improve margins and profitability.
• Delivering excellent customer service throughout.
What We're Looking For
• Previous freight forwarding, European road freight, shipping or logistics
• experience.
• Strong knowledge of freight operations and ideally import/export procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Confident negotiating with customers and suppliers.
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail.
• Organised, energetic and comfortable working in a busy logistics environment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to transport required.
