Summary

Healthcare Support Worker- Cardiology

Band 3 - 37.5 hours

Ward 3C is an elective day unit looking after patients pre and post cardiac procedures. The ward is open Monday – Friday 07:30-20:00. We are passionate about providing the highest levels of care for our patients and offering the best service we can. If you would like to join the team on Ward 3C we are looking to appoint compassionate, enthusiastic, motivated and caring Healthcare Support Assistants who have proven experience in providing care – either in a hospital or care setting.

Barts Heart Centre is one of the largest specialist cardiac centres in Europe where we treat a wide range of patients and have one of the busiest heart attack centres (HAC) in the country. The ward is closely affiliated with the Catheter Laboratory department where we undertake elective cardiac procedures.

The successful candidate will work alongside existing Healthcare Support Assistants and Registered Nurses providing care to patients.  Personal and professional development opportunities are available including care certificate programme, access to external modules and clinical development supported by Senior Nursing staff.

The Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) is a member of the ward team who assists in implementing holistic, person centered care and undertakes administrative activities as directed by a registered nurse.

The HSCW works under the direction and supervision of registered nurses to deliver aspects of care within the boundaries of their assessed competencies. 

Take a major role in the timely provision of clean and equipped patient bed areas.
