About the role

This is a varied Commercial Assistant position supporting the sales and contracts teams with the accurate processing and administration of customer orders, from initial receipt through to delivery and invoicing.

Working closely with sales, contracts, engineering and production, you will ensure orders are processed accurately, customer requirements are clearly documented and potential issues are identified early.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing customer orders and ensuring all information is complete and accurate

- Entering, checking and processing orders using the ERP system

- Processing order amendments and highlighting changes affecting price, delivery or scope

- Coordinating customer drawings and technical documentation with engineering

- Liaising with production regarding lead times and potential delivery risks

- Communicating with UK and international customers and distributors regarding orders

- Producing invoices at agreed contractual milestones and assisting with payment follow-up

- Maintaining accurate order records and providing administrative support to the wider commercial team

About you

You will be highly organised, accurate and comfortable working in a role where attention to detail is essential. You'll have good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, alongside confident written and verbal communication skills.

Ideally, you will have previous experience within

commercial administration, sales order processing, contracts administration or customer service, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Experience using an ERP system would be particularly useful.

You will be proactive, reliable and happy to take ownership of tasks through to completion.

Due to the requirements of the role, you will need to be immediately available or able to start at short notice.

About the organisation

You will be joining an established engineering manufacturer supplying specialist products to customers across the UK and internationally.

Working across sectors including power generation and distribution, industrial automation, marine, telecoms and rail, the organisation offers an interesting technical environment where no two customer requirements are necessarily the same.

This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team and play an important part in ensuring customer orders progress smoothly from order through to delivery.

Other roles you may have experience of could include Commercial Administrator, Sales Administrator, Sales Order Processor, Contracts Administrator, Customer Service Administrator, Order Processing Administrator, Sales Support Administrator or Commercial Coordinator.
