Summary
Christ Church Primary is seeking a practical, self-motivated, and reliable School Caretaker to join our welcoming 2-form entry primary school. You will be responsible for ensuring our school site is safe, secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for our pupils and staff. You are a flexible, committed, and hardworking individual who has a good sense of humour, is able to work as part of a team, will support the ethos of the school and who will love and care for our school as much as we do.

This role comes with access to the highly generous, guaranteed Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and a structured 42-week working pattern.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Security & Keyholding: Opening the school, unlocking gates, securing the site daily, and participating in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
• Routine Maintenance & DIY: Carrying out daily minor repairs, basic plumbing, painting, and carpentry across the premises using school-provided equipment.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Working from a structured daily, weekly, and monthly schedule to conduct fire alarm tests, emergency lighting checks, water temperature testing, and routine playground/ladder safety checks.
• Site Management & Boundaries: Conducting daily boundary checks to clear paths of debris, leaves, and slip hazards (including animal fouling). Managing winter gritting preparation and clearing gutters/drains.
• Operations & Hygiene: Taking deliveries, moving furniture for school assemblies/events, managing waste disposal, stocking cloakroom supplies, and undertaking weekly cleaning of the school hall floor.
