Summary
Key Account Manager
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum + bonus
Permanent, full-time
Location: Bromley, South East London
Working pattern: 2 days per week on-site and UK-wide travel required
We are recruiting for a Key Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of major B2B accounts and play a key role in retaining, developing and growing those relationships.
This is a newly created role within an established UK-wide business, working with major clients across sectors including social housing, insurance, housebuilding and build-to-rent.
The focus is very much on growing existing partnerships, understanding your clients, building strong relationships, identifying opportunities to increase their use of the service and making sure they receive an excellent level of service.
The role
You will take full ownership of a portfolio of key accounts, acting as the main relationship lead and working with clients from operational contacts through to senior and C-suite stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing a portfolio of high-value B2B accounts.
- Building strong, trusted relationships with clients at all levels.
- Creating account plans and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and share of wallet.
- Growing existing accounts across additional properties, regions, products and services.
- Managing forecasts, pipelines and account performance.
- Leading regular account reviews and quarterly business reviews.
- Monitoring SLAs and working closely with internal operational teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Managing relationships with insurance partners and overseeing SLA reporting.
- Protecting account profitability and monitoring margins.
- Tracking revenue, account growth, gross margin and retention.
- Handling challenging client conversations confidently and professionally.
- Travelling across the UK for key client meetings and relationship reviews.
Most day-to-day client contact is via Teams, but you'll be expected to get out and meet clients face-to-face, particularly when building new relationships.
About you
We're looking for someone who has genuinely owned and grown B2B accounts rather than simply supporting an Account Manager or sales team.
You'll ideally have:
- 3–5+ years' experience managing and growing B2B accounts.
- A demonstrable track record of retaining clients and increasing revenue within accounts you personally managed.
- Experience building relationships with a range of stakeholders, from operational teams through to C-suite.
- Strong commercial awareness and confidence with forecasts, margins, SLAs and account performance.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and changing priorities.
- A confident, outgoing approach and the ability to adapt your communication style to different clients.
- The confidence to deal with difficult conversations and resolve issues constructively.
- Experience using CRM and reporting systems.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally is essential for the role.
Sector experience
Experience working with social housing providers or housebuilders would be particularly useful.
Experience within insurance, construction, property services or other B2B environments would also be relevant.
You don't need experience of the specific product/service area — what's most important is that you understand how to own, retain and grow complex B2B relationships.
The opportunity
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Account Manager or Key Account Manager who enjoys developing existing relationships and wants genuine ownership of a portfolio.
You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on account growth, client retention and commercial performance within a growing B2B operation.
If you're commercially minded, relationship-focused and have a proven track record of growing the accounts you own, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
